Marymount Volleyball v. Redondo Beach Scrimmage

The Sailors faced a strong defensive and blocking team in Redondo Union H.S. at the scrimmage yesterday.  This is always a good test for the Sailors to see where their strengths lie and also refocuses the teams on what needs work.  No official score was kept, but some key stats are as follows:

Devon N. lead the team  in kills and digs, passed a 2.2.
Cami C. had 5 aces
Grace F. 8 kills, 16 assists
Haley K. had 14 assists, 10 digs
Ruby L. 5 kills in 4th game
Taylor F. 7 assists
Lexi F. key blocks, 1 kill, 3 digs, 3 assists
Jenni B. first 2 aces of the year
Mitzie N. 3 kills
Maddie M. 1 kill

The games were close, challenging both teams to come up with multiple strong plays.

The Junior Varsity Volleyball Team also had an amazing first showing. Every single player had a meaningful role in all three games. Caroline Douglas and Sophie Globe played excellent defense. Allouette learned how to play middle blocker in 8 days, and came in and exceeded any expectation for a player in a new position. She really hit and blocked well. Olivia Devero and Taylor Ladwig both hit well from the right side.
