JV Soccer Continues Great Run at Hart Tournament

Goal: Scored by Sam Jackson in the 1st half. Audrey Hoen received the ball on the left side of the field while Sam Jackson made a run up top. Hoen passed the ball to Jackson who took on her defender and shot it past the opposing keeper for a goal.

 

The game was in full control by the Sailors and Isabel Bellitti led the defensive line to not let the opposing team behind our back line or any room to even get a shot off. Her speed and determination to win was apparent and helped the team get the shutout.

Goals: 1st goal scored by Jackie Musico in the 2nd half off of a free kick from 5 yards back from the corner of the 18 yard box served by Ali Adams. Adams served the ball in just outside of the 6 yard box and behind Quartz Hill's back line for Musico to run in and put it in the back of the net.

2nd goal scored in the last 2 minutes of the game by Annabelle Daly off of a free kick from almost the same spot as the first goal from Ali Adams. Adams served the ball in  to the same spot and Daly deflected it into the goal after a last ditch effort from Quartz Hill's defense tried to save it and hit off their leg and into the back of the net.

 

This game started off shakey as Marymount was scored on in the opening minute of the game to put MM down 0-1. The Sailors did not give up and kept fighting. Marymount had many opportunities to score and could not finish in the first half making the score 0-1 at halftime. After the half the girls knew they were the better team and were determined to prove that before the game was over. Great services from Ali Adams and great stops from our 2nd half keeper of the game, Ashley Kirkpatrick sealed the win for the Sailors in the 2nd half comeback.
