MARYMOUNT ESTABLISHES DR. MARY ELLEN GOZDECKI ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
Dina Petringa
To honor Dr. Mary Ellen Gozdecki's unwavering commitment to her students and the mission of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, Marymount's Board of Trustees has created an endowed scholarship in her name.
Board Chair Richard Crowell, said, "Thirteen years ago, Dr. Mary Ellen
took her place among those who have served Marymount as Head of
School. Since that time, countless students, parents, alumnae, faculty
and staff have been inspired by her leadership, her love of learning
and her love for her students. Her tenure has been marked by a
passionate commitment to the mission of the RSHM and by many remarkable
accomplishments and contributions to the life of the school. Financial
stability, the Campus Master Plan, a strong academic program that is
responsive to the needs of our students, a highly qualified and
committed faculty and staff, and a diverse student body are all part of
the legacy Dr. Gozdecki will leave behind."
In light of Dr. Gozdecki's many and varied contributions, the Board thought it fitting to create the Dr. Mary Ellen Gozdecki Endowed Scholarship Fund
in her name. The fund will provide assistance to deserving young women who would otherwise not be able to attend
Marymount. Crowell added, "Providing assistance to students of significant financial need who demonstrate the promise of leadership and a commitment to the mission of the RSHM speaks to the heart of who Dr. Gozdecki is and who we are as a school."
