This year, the Sailors will look to Senior Rhapsody Washington for leadership and guidance. Washington is a 4-year letterman who has set a personal goal of helping lead her team to a return appearance in CIF playoffs. Three-year lettermen, Juniors Michaela Keefe and Caitlin Keefe will bring game experience and a strong physical presence inside. Another three-year letterman, Junior Paige Tademaru, will help defensively with on ball pressure and offensively she will lead the Sailors as the returning starting point guard.

 

Senior Captain, Kevin Kilroy will bring maturity and leadership to the varsity team to finish her four year career as a Sailor. Junior Kirsten Ahn is a dedicated teammate who will bring positive energy and an added spark off the bench for the team this year.

Sophomore’s Carmen Voskuhl and Hana Romo-Kikuchi have worked hard in the offseason with footwork and their offensive skill sets to bring a scoring presence as shooting guards for the Sailors. The Sailors welcome four newcomers this year. Adrianna Silerio, Emily Torp, and Alexa Osime all had strong junior varsity seasons and worked hard in the offseason to get to the varsity level.

 

With all the hard work and dedication the team has shown in the off-season, Coach Baker has noticed a renewed emphasis on defensive intensity. They have adopted the motto of “Playing championship basketball day in and day out”. Defense will be key to the Sailor’s success this year. Their strong motion offense, with cuts and screens, play a key role in making them a competitive team. With high-pressure defense and great communication, the Marymount Sailors are ready to hang a banner in the Pavilion.
