The Sailors run for a championship came up short in the quarterfinals against a very strong Lompoc team. The Sailors had a great first half with balanced scoring and solid defense. However, the second half proved to be too much for the Sailors to overcome. Foul trouble, scoring issues and a hot shooting night by the Lompoc Braves ended their run. The Sailors had an incredible season, securing the title of Sunshine League Champions and the #1 seed in the playoffs, both of which were firsts for the Marymount Basketball Program. The team finished with a great 19-6 record overall, with signature wins against formidable opponents all season long. Most importantly, the Sailors grew as a team this year and each player developed as a leader. Friendships were formed that will last a lifetime and the athletes all went out like champions with class.
