Marymount Basketball Kicks Off the Season with Tournaments
The JV Sailors had a close game vs. West Ranch at the Burroughs Tournament and Varsity was also challenged by St. Bonaventure.
JV
The JV Sailors were down early in the first quarter 15-5. JV fought back and went on a 12-2 run which put the team down by 2 (17-15). It was a tug of war with the scores all the way to the final minutes in the 4th Quarter. The Sailors tried their best to make one more push but fell short in the last minute of the game.
VARSITY
The Sailors played an aggressive style of defense forcing 15 turnovers, but fell short shooting 13-29 at the free throw line. The Sailors were led by:
Senior Guard Adrianna Silerio: 12pts, 2-Steals, 2-Rebounds, 1-Block, and 2-4 at the Free throw line
Junior Guard Malia Verge: 12pts, 1-Steals, 4-Rebound, and 6-14 at the Free throw line
Sophomore Guard Jenna Rotheram: 12pts, 4-Steals, 7-Rebound, 5-8 at the Free throw line
